Bezeugen Tract Club – July 2022

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4

This month marks the 166th mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club. This months tracts are:

Uncle Sam… The ten commandments serve as a mirror to show us our sin! I am amazed that James Montgomery Flagg drew the famous “I want you for U.S. Army” he did it by drawing himself in a mirror. In a similar way when anyone honestly looks into the mirror of God’s Law they see themselves as a sinner in need of the savior. I often tell people in one on one conversations that “all have sinned” the only question is “if they will admit it”. If they confess their sin, repent and believe the Gospel, then God will save them!

Are you a good person? Many will say yes. Follow that up by asking “are you good enough to go to Heaven?” I like to point out to people that if they want to go to God’s Heaven, then they have to get there by God’s standard. Goodness therefore is by keeping his standard. See 1 John 3:4 printed above. Sin is lawlessness. And even one sin prevents someone from going to Hell on their own goodness. That’s why people need the Lord and his righteousness. None of us is good enough to go to Heaven. But Jesus is. That is the good news!

Fear Not — is it hard to believe that it’s been over two years since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the whole world? Will any of us ever forget where we were when we first heard of COVID-19? Or what we thought when the government declared some employees essential and others non-essential? During that time we created this tract because while we realized that people were fearful of COVID-19, they also are fearful of many other things. Some are fearful of who will be elected in the next election. Some are afraid of the dark. Or of heights. This tract shares hope that with God we need not fear. For those who believe God is with them. Share that hope with people as you hand out this tract!

Thank You — this is one of our most popular tracts. It is so easy to hand out. Just give it to thank someone for anything they do. Mail it with a thank you note or card. Hand it to someone in a store that provides you help to find an item. Leave it with a generous tip when you pay your bill at a restaurant. I emphasize generous tip, because please keep in mind, waiters and waitresses work hard. And to receive something instead of a tip is offensive to them. The word of God may offend them, but please don’t let your actions do that.  Got other ideas on how to share the tract? Follow us on social media and share them with us. Feel free to take a picture of leaving a tract, post it on social media and tag us!

The theme verse for the National Day of Prayer is Colossians 2:6-7 “Exalt the Lord who has established us.” We will leverage this verse in our A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses for prayer as follows:

Adoration
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Confession
I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. (Luke 5:32)
Thanksgiving
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7)
Supplication
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

If you are unable to join one of our locations, please consider praying on your own or with friends at home or at your place of business.

First Thursday Prayer – April 2022

Thursday, April 7th, is the First Thursday of the month. We will meet to pray for our nation, leaders, and revival at the following locations:

The suggested A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses for prayer are:

Adoration
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens. (Psalm 8:1)
Confession
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust. (Psalm 103:8-14)
Thanksgiving
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 57:9-10)
Supplication
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me[a] anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

Bezeugen Tract Club – May 2022

It’s been said that “April Showers bring May flowers”. Well in the case of the Bezeugen Tract Club, May brings tracts for May the Fourth, Mothers Day, Prayer and a new design to address a popular misconception about the Bible! I can’t remember the number of times I’ve heard something to the effect that “we are all children of God.” While we are all created by God in his image, the Bible clearly teaches than unless you receive Him, Jesus, as your Lord and Savior, then your father is the devil. This month we are introducing a new tract that teaches this basic Biblical fact!

May 4th is considered “Star Wars Day” because it is a play on words of “May the Fourth” with the popular phrase from the movie “May the Force be with you”. The original Star Wars movie, episode IV called A New Hope, was originally released in May (25th) 1977. Amazingly this will be the 45th anniversary of the movie release. A few years ago we released the enclosed “May the Lord be with you” tract. These are popular with Star Wars fans and non fans alike. Like the concept that we are all God’s children, many believe God will be with them no matter what. Again, there is a Biblical truth we can cling to and share from Matthew 28 that Jesus is with His believers always!

May 5th is the National Day of Prayer. Since May 2010 Bezeugen Ministries has been hosting events on the First Thursday of each month in the style of National Day of Prayer. Each month we send an email with suggested A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses for prayer. Typically local groups meet at noon at their respective city hall. If you’d like to host a group, or simply receive these notifications to pray please contact us. We also will hold a 7AM (Central time) prayer conference call on May 5th as well as each First Thursday of the month. The information will be provided in the monthly email.

All of that to say, prayer is important! It’s an often untapped resource. The Bible says to pray for all people, especially those in authority. In March we released the Pray for America and Pray for Canada tracts. This month Texas members of the Bezeugen Tract Club are receiving “Pray for Texas” tracts. For the background on these tracts please see the information from the March mailing (https://www.bezeugen.org/blog/?p=2166). If you are interested in a tract to pray for your state let us know. If you’d like monthly email reminders with ACTS verses to pray, would like to host a local prayer meeting, or be reminded of local prayer meetings please contact us. If you would like to participate in a National Day of Prayer event near you at you can find local events at www.nationaldayofprayer.org.

Mother’s Day is May 8th. Mother’s are great gifts to us. If you are able, go see your mom on Mother’s Day. If not, if she is still alive, call her. No matter if the relationship is strained or great, reach out to her. A day will come when you can’t make that call or visit. So cherish every moment you can with the woman who brought you into this world. This tract came from a conversation with Phil, a good friend and long time tract club member. I remember sitting with him over coffee one afternoon when he was visiting Dallas and I asked him to describe sharing the gospel. He talked about seeing mom’s with their babies and complementing them on how the child is such a great gift. But then transitioned to “that’s great, but what’s the greatest gift?” Instantly we knew there was a tract in that. We have a Christmas and a more generic themed version of this tract. We also now have this tract translated into Spanish (see the front side of this letter).

The “Greatest Gift” tract has been a favorite since it was introduced a few years ago. Recently we had this translated into Spanish. They are now available by donation. Submit a request online or by sending a donation ($5 for 100, $10 for 200, $20 for 500) in the envelope enclosed with your monthly mailing.

Bezeugen Tract Club – April 2022

April brings the start of Major League Baseball.  Enclosed is a new baseball trivia tract that you can use to share the Gospel with baseball fans. The image was created by Cedric Hohnstadt. We acquired rights to print it. You may be familiar with some of Cedric’s other work. He illustrated the Living Waters “Are You a Good Person” cartoon tract based on Ray Comfort’s book “Hell’s Best Kept Secret” (shorter audio version here). Since the Are You a Good Person tract is in the public domain, we were also able to use those images on our own Are you a Good Person tracts. Cedric later made an animated video of the tract where Kirk Cameron voiced Mr. Nice Guy .  You can read more about Cedric on his website, especially this article about making the Are You a Good Person video.

Perhaps you are nervous about handing out a trivia tract because you might not know the subject matter yourself. Well, let me let you in on a little secret. The back of our trivia tracts are all the same. That’s right. The back is the same. The questions on the front are multiple choice and whether it’s a football, basketball, hockey, rock n roll, or this baseball tract, the back is the same, which means the answers are the same. The answers are A, B, C, B, and death. Therefore you can confidently quiz people on this trivia, even if you don’t know anything about it, and then when they answer you can tell them if it is right or wrong without having to look at the back of the tract. While quizzing someone on a trivia tract one day in downtown Dallas the guy questioned the correct answer because he had not heard of that person. I pulled out my phone and showed him that the card was correct. Trivia tracts are fun because people love to show how much they know. But, do they know the most important thing, what happens when someone dies.

Easter is April 17th. As a kid Easter was putting on your Sunday best, going to church, easter egg hunts, and big family gatherings. Over the years the world has seemingly made it more commercial with opportunities to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. A number of years ago while doing a lot of witnessing at the shopping malls we would notice the lines of people waiting to take such pictures. We jokingly got to saying “Hoppy Easter” to refer to this. That lead to making this tract which has been popular at Easter ever since.  While many may just be looking for a hand out from the Easter Bunny, the true meaning of Easter is found in Matthew 28:6 “He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.”

All through out the Old Testament there are prophesies of Jesus. The resurrection is the fulfillment of these promises. The bookmark that is included with each months mailings has ten Bible verses and ten questions to ask people. Question 7 “What has God done for you?” asks the person to read 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 which is essentially the Gospel in a verse: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

The answer from reads:

So what has Christ done for you? According to these verses there are three things. He died, was buried and was raised (from the dead)! You’ll also notice that he appeared to people after he was raised from the dead. Now it also says that this was done in “accordance with the Scriptures”. What this means is that there is prophecy (events predicted before they happened) that pointed to Jesus doing these things and proving that he is who he claimed to be: namely God. This is an area for future study to show that the Bible is true and that Jesus is who he claimed to be. Click next to see how much God loves you!

After Life Catalog dot com bookmark page.

As you hand out the bookmark you can point people to the website to get more details on each question like above.

Bezeugen Tract Club – March 2022

Over the last few years we have released some tracts with beautiful calligraphy by Keith Neds. This months new tract is also based on a ministry of his, encouraging people to pray for our country.  Keith explains:

I am involved in a prayer movement in Rockwall, Texas where we have put up large monthly prayer signs in our community for the last 5 years or so. In 2020, my son-in-law, Samuel Smith, was running for the Texas State Representative seat for district 107 in Mesquite. He loves the Lord, and mentioned to me that it might be a good idea to have prayer yard signs to pass out in conjunction with his campaign yard signs. He initially estimated that he might need 200 signs. We have provided those signs, and have seen an overwhelming response to them. We not only used them in his district, but in many other places in our state and country. At this point, nearly 8,000 signs have been placed, and we have just begun! Because of the intense problems in our land, Christians are realizing more and more the necessity of prayer.

At various locations such as churches, businesses, and conferences, we lean the signs up against a wall and indicate that the prayer signs are free ONLY for those who will promise two things: 1) to PRAY regularly for America, and 2) to DISPLAY the sign in a visible place for others to see. I am the president of a small 501(c)3 ministry called Calligraphy for Christ. This is a faith ministry, so as the Lord continues to provide, we give these signs away.

Our desire is to call Americans across our country to pray. We know for a fact that the strategy of prayer is God-ordained, God-blessed, and God-empowered (II Chronicles 7:14; James 5:16b).

If you  would like a sign to put in your yard to go with the tracts we have sent this month, you can  go to CalligraphyforChrist.com and download the PDF and/or JPG file. Or Call Imprint.com (Houston, TX)  at 281-786-3764 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and reference Keith Neds name, Calligraphy for Christ organization, and order number 1993467. They will provide you with all the details. For more information see Calligraphy for Christ Prayer Sign Page.

It’s amazing to drive around Rockwall and see the large “Pray for America” signs and also the smaller yard signs. Keith had also made bumper stickers. Keith, his family, and members of Rockwall Bible Church have

also been helping to pack tract club envelopes for years. One day we were talking and I suggested we take the image from the sign and print it on a tract. We worked on the text together. This month we are glad to include this tract in the mailing. We pray this tract will be used to reach many people with the Gospel and also encourage them to pray for our nation, leaders and much needed revival.

Since May 2010 we have also been hosting monthly “First Thursday” prayer meetings at various city halls, businesses and churches.  Each month we post suggested “A.C.T.S.” (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses to guide participants prayer time on out BLOG (www.bezeugen.org/blog/). If you’d like to start your own group and have a monthly prayer meeting in your community please contact us and we will send you a monthly email with these ACTS verses for prayer and also include your location in our logistics. We have a “trading card” available, by donation, that you can write your prayer meeting logistics on to give to people to invite them to come. We look forward to hearing from you.

This months mailing also includes the following tracts:

  • Hello my name is—which also doubles as a business card for you. Let’s say you are talking with someone and would like them to be able to reach out to you to talk more about the Gospel. These cards allow you to write your name and contact information on the front so that you can use them for this purpose.
  • Get Out of Hell Free is one of the most popular and requested tracts that we have. Many people think they are “good” with God, or that their “religion” serves as a “Get Out of Hell Free card”. The reality is their religion and works won’t save anyone. Salvation is found in no other name than the name of Jesus.

If you are not already receiving 30 FREE Gospel tracts per month, you can enroll in the Bezeugen Tract Club.

Bezeugen Tract Club – February 2022

Last months letter challenged you to set some personal goals for 2022. According to an article only 55% of people make it into February with maintaining their resolutions. So how are you doing with the challenge goals in last months letter? You can review last months letter online review this summary of the challenge goals is below:

  • Are you reading the Bible daily?
  • Are you sharing the Gospel daily?
  • Have you invited at least one person to join the Bezeugen Tract Club?
  • Are you praying for the Lord to send out workers?

Sometimes new tract ideas come to mind, get designed, printed and released. Other times, we put the idea onto a list of ideas, pray about it for awhile, and then when God’s timing is right, the new tract becomes a reality. Some of these ideas have been on this list for years. The enclosed “Free Indeed” tract is an example of the later. This is an idea that we’ve had for a few years. Multiple attempts at the artwork, just didn’t seem right. Yet, the idea for the tract continued to come to mind.  Finally one night I was talking to my friend Marv at One Million Tracts. We spoke on the phone for a few minutes one evening and I explained to him what I had in mind. About a half hour later he texted me the image that appears on this tract! It was exactly what I had had in mind! BTW, if you ever need tracts in bulk, please support Marv by ordering tracts at www.OneMillionTracts.com.

I’ve written before about how we “never meant to start a prison ministry”. You can read that article on our BLOG. Yet, we send thousands of tracts per month into the prison systems across Texas and the United States each month. We have tract club members who are sending tracts to inmates around the world. Last month I had a call from a woman who got one of our tracts from someone on death row at San Quentin. When we think of bondage, we typically think of people in prison. People who are locked in handcuffs. In these cases, being free may just be being released from these handcuffs.

While prisoners are in physical bondage because they are paying an earthly consequence of sin, Jesus says anyone who practices sin is in enslaved to it (John 8:34). You see, inmates maybe in need of freedom from physical containment, they like everyone has an even greater need, freedom from the sin that enslaves them, until they are freed by Jesus! Jesus died for the sin of the world. Freedom comes when a man repents and believes the Gospel. We hope and pray that this new tract is used to reach many with the Gospel both inside and outside of prisons across the country!

February brings Valentine’s Day. While this is a time when people celebrate the love of their life, there is no greater love than the love God showed us by sending Jesus to die for the sin of the world. The enclosed John 3:16 is a great reminder of God’s great love for us!

Other tracts included this month are the popular Are You a good person and The Ten Commandments.

The Are You a Good Person Tract is fun to hand to people and ask them to put their finger on the little man and see if he changes color. When he doesn’t change they claim the tract is broken. Well, it is just a piece of paper after all. But, I’ll play along and ask, “are you sure you pressed hard enough” or “are you sure it was exactly 8 seconds?” With a bewildered look on their face, they will try again. Keep it fun, and then get to the Gospel.

The Ten Commandments tract provides the commandments so that the person can easily ask themselves if they have kept those commandments. We know that no one has kept them all. The question really becomes whether someone will admit they have broken them. Once a person admits they are a sinner and in need of  a savior, then you can share the gospel with them and point them to the Savior, Jesus!
