For larger quantities, or tracts that we do not have on hand, please purchase them from One Million Tracts by going to www.onemilliontracts.com then going to “Gospel Tracts”, selecting “Ministries” and then selecting “Bezeugen Gospel Tracts”.

Last month we presented a few challenges in the monthly letter. How did you do? We challenged you to read the Gospel of John a chapter a day. Did you do it? If not, or even if you did, how about doing it (again) in February? The reason I like the Gospel of John so much is that it was “written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. “ (John 20:31). While you, are already a believer, being very familiar with the Gospel of John allows you to talk with unbelievers and challenge them to read it. Faith comes from hearing! Romans 10:17. So if you can encourage non-believers to read the Gospel of John, they may come to believe as well.

The second challenge was to hand out the two bookmarks with the “Enroll.tract.club” website on the front and encourage your friends or family members to join the tract club and join you in the commitment to share the gospel everyday—As You Go! Get their commitment right away. Take their phone and go to “enroll dot tract dot club” that’s http://enroll.tract.club/, hand their phone back to them and ask them to type in their information.

As we continue along the same lines of challenges, I’ll encourage you to be in constant study of “the last question asked”. I think it was Mark Spence at Ambassadors Academy that had framed the challenge this way. Some people don’t share the Gospel because they are afraid someone will ask them a question that they don’t know the answer to. Well, there are lot’s of things we don’t know the answer to. What if we were just honest with the person and said, “you know, I’m not sure about that, let me look into it and get back to you”. You could then study the Bible, read a book, ask your pastor, etc. And then call, email or meet with the person.

Last year a book, “Cold Case Christianity” by J. Warner Wallace was recommended to me. See https://coldcasechristianity.com/. (Illustration provided from the audio reference of Cold Case Christianity). I had it in my queue on Audible, but hadn’t gotten to it. At some point I got into a discussion with an Atheist on Facebook. Recalling the book, I listened and it was captivating. Imagine you walk into a room and see a dead man lying face down on the ground. How did he die? There are four options: natural death, accidental death, suicide or homicide.  If you see blood from the abdomen or a knife in his back you get more clues and can infer what happened. Wallace is a cold case murder detective who takes you on a captivating ride of how evidence is examined and then applies it to Jesus, the Bible and the Gospel narrative.  Can we believe the eye witness accounts and the evidence? Cold Case Christianity is a great way to study more about defending the Gospel!

First Thursday Prayer – January 2023

Happy New Year!

At the federal level a new congress will start in January. In Texas, the Legislature will be in session starting in January. Many important issues to be discussed and voted on at both levels. Local governments are dealing with many important issues as well. Some have put their trust in the government. But we put our trust in the Lord our God.

We have four locations. For details please contact the leader of the location. In Denison, due to road construction immediately outside of City Hall, we will meet at Sparrows Gallery (124 W Main St) which is on the North side of Main St from City Hall.

The following A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses are provided to guide your prayer time. Or you may feel free to use whatever guide you choose. The important thing is that we are lifting up our city, state and nation in prayer for revival!

Adoration
Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! (Psalm 150:3-6)
Confession
For I am ready to fall,
and my pain is ever before me.
I confess my iniquity;
I am sorry for my sin. (Psalm 38:18)
Thanksgiving
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 57:9-10)
Supplication
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:14-19)

Bezeugen Tract Club – January 2023

This is the 172nd mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club!

Introducing Bezeugen SWAG! Bezeugen Ministries has partnered with TX Custom Creations to provide Bezeugen Ministries Swag. These items are intended to help you share the Gospel As You Go! The initial line of products includes coffee cups, hats, and shirts themed from the Are You a Good Person, Pray for America, and Jesus is King tracts. Plus, each item comes with 100 matching tracts to hand out!  Order here.

A new online donation website at http://donate.bezeugen.org/  is now available. Via this site you can make requests for additional tracts, items like tract wallets and pens, or make an online with your credit card. You can also order Million Dollar Bill tracts, including our newest million featuring  …. Mr Nice Guy!

Happy New Year!  On January 1, 2004, Pastor Steve Sanchez made a commitment to personally share the Gospel everyday. This started a series of BLOG posts which he titled the Everyday Club where he invited other Christians to make a commitment to personal evangelism. Each person can commit to however much (or little) evangelism that they want to do. This evangelism comes in the form of handing out tracts, one on one conversations, going door to door and even open air preaching. The idea is to follow the Lord’s direction and share the Gospel Everyday!

In September 2013, Pastor Sanchez felt the Lord calling him in a different direction. Scott Thompson and Carl Kalbfleisch began moderating the Everyday Club and eventually moved it to social media where there is now daily interaction and encouragement to share the Gospel. As we begin 2023, consider you daily commitment to sharing the Gospel. Go to www.bezeugen.org/everyday/  to learn more! You’ll also find information on how to join the social media group and connect with other tract club members.

The new year often finds people making new year resolutions. But typically those resolutions to lose weight, eat better, and get healthy end up with marketplace specials on buying used treadmills. Instead of resolutions, we encourage people to take the 21-Day Challenge. The tract has the Gospel on it and the challenge to read the Gospel of John a chapter a day for 21 days. You might like to take the challenge yourself. I typically read the Gospel of John a chapter a day each month beginning on the first! You can also access the 21 Day Challenge online at https://afterlifecatalog.com/21/ where there is information on how to subscribe and have the challenge sent directly to your email!

While we are thinking about challenges, how about challenging two friends to join you in handing out 30 Gospel tracts per month. That’s only one tract per day. This months included bookmark has the gospel on the back and the enrollment link for the tract club on the front. How about taking these to church with you on Sunday, giving them to friends, and encouraging them to enroll. Better yet, get their commitment right then, take their phone and go to “enroll dot tract dot club” that’s http://enroll.tract.club/, hand their phone back to them and ask them to type in their information.

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”  Acts 4:14

This should be our model. As we spend time in God’s word each day, we are spending time with Jesus. We get to know Him. And then as we go out to live our lives we can tell others about Him. As we get into conversations with others by knowing God’s Word we can discern the truth from the errors of the worlds understanding of the Word of God. Set a goal to read through the whole Bible this year. The YouVersion app has a number of plans to do it. Find a friend or your spouse and do it together if that helps keep you on track. By reading the Bible daily you’ll grow closer to God and in the knowledge of his Word to share with others!

Bezeugen Tract Club – December 2022

According to a Gallup poll in 2019, more than 93% of American’s celebrate Christmas. An article1 about this survey goes on to say

Near universal observance of Christmas is seen across all gender, age, education and income subgroups of Americans with more than 9 in 10 in each saying they celebrate, and the holiday is also a unifying event for Republicans and Democrats.

The only Americans less likely to observe Christmas are those who say that religion is not very important to them, and among them the figure is 85%. Participation stretches to 96% among those who are “very” and “fairly” religious.

While the overall percentage of Americans celebrating Christmas remains high, fewer today (71%) than a decade ago (82%) say it is a strongly or somewhat religious holiday for them.

Another poll indicates that less than 70% of American’s identify as Christian.  Isn’t it interesting that a larger percentage of American’s celebrate a Christian holiday than those who identify as Christian.  Seems like the reverse would be more believable. Much of this can be explained because Christmas has become a secular holiday. But some of this is probably because some who identify as Christian on a poll are actually not Christians.  In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus tells some people who identified him as Lord to depart from him, because he never knew them.  In today’s terms they identify, in a poll perhaps, as Christian, but aren’t.

I would guess that the number of American’s who are Christian is actually much less than those 69% who identify as Christian on the poll.  I’ve come to this opinion over the years by having thousands of conversations with people. When asked if they are going to heaven most people will say yes, and go on to claim it is because they are a good person or somehow have earned it. Very few talk about the Biblical principles of faith alone in Christ alone. They are not aware of the need to be born again (John 3:3). When explaining what the Bible says about repentance, faith, and the identity of Jesus, many of these same people are left bewildered and confused. That is where the hope of the Gospel comes in.

Since most American’s celebrate Christmas, yet many of them are not saved themselves, Christmas  presents a wonderful opportunity to share the Good news of the Gospel.  It’s very easy to simply say “Merry Christmas” and hand someone a tract.

Or if you are a bit more bold, strike up a conversation with someone. Ask them if they celebrate Christmas. If they do, ask them why? Does it have some religious significance to them? Or is it merely a time with family and friends to get together and exchange gifts. Then ask them if you can share why you celebrate Christmas. That becomes an open door to explain the good news of the Gospel . You could start with Genesis  3:15, go to Isaiah 9:6 and then jump to the Gospels to show that the promised savior has come to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10).

Perhaps there is a parade or some other Christmas events taking place near you.  Perhaps you are traveling, or just need more tracts this time of year. If you need more Christmas tracts, they are available by donation by filling out the form below.

If you are not already a member of the Bezeugen Tract Club, you can enroll online. If you are a member and you’d like to continue to receive 30 FREE tracts per month, update your membership to bib-monthly or quarterly or change your mailing address you can renew here.

First Thursday Prayer – November 2022

Mid-term elections are Tuesday, November 8th. Both chambers of the US Congress along with many Governors and local elections are on the line. Please do your civic duty. Then pray!

Thursday, November 3rd is the First Thursday of November. We will be meeting at the following locations for prayer for our nation, leaders, and revival. We have the following locations.

The following A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses are provided for your prayer time.

Adoration
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Confession
I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. (Daniel 9:4-5)
Thanksgiving
Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. (Hebrews 13:15)
Supplication
Answer me quickly, O Lord!
My spirit fails!
Hide not your face from me,
lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. (Psalm 143:7-8)

State Fair of Texas Outreach 2022

For more than 20 years the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship has been renting a vendor booth at the State Fair of Texas and staffing it with Gospel Presenters open to close for all 24 days of the fair. You can learn more about the FGBMF State Fair of Texas Outreach online. As the saying goes “everything is bigger in Texas” and the State Fair is no exception, being known as the largest state fair in the country drawing over 3.5 million people per year.

Bezeugen Ministries 2022 State Fair of Texas team

Since 2012, Bezeugen has been staffing the booth for either a shift or an entire day during the fair. This was our 11th year to participate. Steve, Scott, Scott’s son, my wife and I had a nice evening of fellowship on Friday night. Saturday morning we ate some breakfast and Steve shared a word from the Lord with us before we headed to the fair. One thing he said that stuck with me all day was that we prayed that we could be “a pebble in the shoe” of those we talked to.

We had a team of 8 working the booth Saturday, October 22nd, from 10AM to 4PM. Steve and I arrived at the booth at 9:30. Robert, the Assistant Project Manager for the outreach, was there organizing some materials. We reviewed some updated procedures with him, prayed, and then opened the booth at 10AM just as Scott and his son arrived.

Within a couple of minutes of handing out tracts, Scott, Steve, and I were all involved in three separate gospel presentations. Robert would later tell me how he was amazed to see that all three of us were immediately engaged in conversations so quickly. For six hours we handed out tracts and there was generally at least one gospel conversation taking place the entire time.

We brought 1500 Million Dollar Bill Gospel tracts along with another few hundred Spanish bill style tracts. All of these Million Dollar Bill tracts were distributed. In addition we brought about 4000 business card sized Gospel Tracts. I estimate about a third of those were distributed. So our team of 8 people probably got the Gospel into the hands of 3000 people in six hours. Only God knows the impact on eternity this will have.

Glass eye picture from verywellhealth.com

In a sense this years outreach was a lot like the previous 10 I have participated in. We start with the same question “Would you trade your eye for one million dollars?”. I’ll never forget one man said, “yes”, reached up to his face, and took out a glass eye and held it out to me. Obviously, I was pretty shocked. In the years of doing this, I’ve had people offer because they were blind in one eye. But never have I had someone hand me their glass eye. We had a good laugh and it turned out he, his wife and daughter were all strong in their Christian faith. Regardless of the answer (yes or no) it is an opportunity to transition the conversation to the Gospel. By explaining that the eyes are the window to the soul, if they had put a high price on eyes, their soul is worth even more, probably priceless.

I had conversations ranging from people who said they knew they would go to Heaven, hoped they would go to Heaven, didn’t know if they would go to Heaven, didn’t care if they would go to Heaven, and even some who admitted they would go to Hell. The two extremes are easier conversations. On the one hand, the folks who said they are going to Heaven, when I asked why said because they had faith in Jesus Christ alone to save them. Bingo! The only right answer.

The ones that said they were going to Hell was sad because of the destination they are on. I explained to them that Hell is the default for every person “unless you are born again”. In between I spoke with a woman and her two daughters. She like most, declared her own goodness by works she has done. All in their own right are great, but they won’t earn her an eternity in Heaven. I explained to her that works need to flow out of faith in Christ. She claimed to be a Christian and I could see some tears under her dark sunglasses. But when I asked if she was okay she just said yes and didn’t expand on it.

Like the Biblical Gospel accounts, each presents Jesus life from their perspective. The same message from a different angle so to speak. In a similar way, each of the 8 of us had different experiences throughout the day. Hence, It’s best to hear from the others directly.

The following comments from Steve is excerpted from his Stone the Preacher BLOG article titled The Starfish.

A sad testimony was from a young man busted for seven felonies because he was arrested for transporting seven cakes of THC. He said his life was over because he was facing life…just like every one of his family had previously, generation after generation. His hard life began at age three, when he had every bone in his body broken by abusive parents.

One of my fellow Christians called me over to help give him the good news of Jesus, but I asked him to tell his own story. He did, explaining that he was out on parole and had been in and out of prison for years. Before that, he never lived anywhere else except other people’s couches. But he found Christ, turned his life around, and now goes into many different hardcore penitentiaries, preaching the Gospel. Every time he asked his parole officer for permission
to do so, the official would shake his head and say that there was no way. Then he’d come back a while later and ask for a letter of recommendation because the warden would approve his entry. Time and again, he was allowed in, completely befuddling his parole supervisor. Now married, in May 2023, he will be totally free. As he told his testimony, all the glory was given to Christ, his Savior.

After listening to this incredible account of God’s faithfulness, I asked the young man if he would like to make the choice to live a different life by repenting and trusting Christ. He declined. When I asked if I could pray for him, he said no once again, turned around and left.

Scott writes:

I am always encouraged every time I come to the outreach. I have been coming since 2013. This year I was able to meet Steve Sanchez. I joined the Bezeugen Tract Club through his evangelism blog which is how I met Carl and that brought me to the State Fair Of Texas Gospel Outreach! I am thankful for every opportunity to share the gospel. We had many people come take the Million Dollar Eye Test . Seeds were sown once again. One highlight was my conversation with Mary. She said that her neighbors had been witnessing to her. She is ripe for the harvest!  I look forward to coming next year!

Paige wrote:

This year seemed very different to me. The fair goers seemed uninterested in taking a bible tract or even when a silver coin was tossed at the feet of a child, there was a hesitation to pick up the shiny silver coin. I witnessed to 3 people and 2 of them were already born again Christ followers. The 3rd was different. She was 9 years old and was wearing a coat on a 90° day. She would often give me a blank stare when I would ask her a question. I shared the gospel with her and she was indifferent about the good news. Her name was Remy and I am keeping her in my prayers.

Below are some more pictures from the event.

First Thursday Prayer – October 2022

Thursday, October 6th, is the First Thursday of the month. We will meet for prayer for our nation leaders and revival. We have the following locations:

Suggested A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) verses for prayer are as follows:

Adoration
Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength!
We will sing and praise your power. (Psalm 21:13)
Confession
Have mercy on me,[a] O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right[b] spirit within me. (Psalm 51:1-10)
Thanksgiving
But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord! (Jonah 2:9)
Supplication
Ah, Lord God ! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
(Philippians‬ ‭1:9-11‬)

Please pray for the outreach going on at the State Fair of Texas for all 24 days of the prayer. Contact Carl or Neil if you would like to participate as we are booth leaders on certain days of the fair.
