Announcing the Bezeugen Meetup Group

In order to coordinate witnessing events, prayer meetings, training opportunities, etc, we have created a Bezeugen Ministries Meetup Group on Meetup

meetup.com. To join the group, go to www.meetup.com/Bezeugen/ and create an account or login.

Chance to win a Leather Bound Evidence Bible!

Between now and May 31st, when you join the meetup group you will automatically be entered for a chance to win a Leather Bound Evidence Bible. The winner will be randomly selected from the members of the meetup group on May 31st. Each week until May 31st, we may offer some other prizes along the way as well! So join the group early and have more chances to win!

There are two main reasons to be a part of the group.

  • To RSVP to attend an event.
  • To pray for the events that are taking place.

At this point the meetup group has been populated with our regular witnessing events. Over time additional events will be added to include the the door to door activities around North America with our 100 Challenge as well as outreaches at sporting events.

NCAA Final Four

The NCAA Final Four came to North Texas this year. We had been planning an outreach for that weekend for years – since it was announced. We ended up with four groups of people going out including those of us from Bezeugen, we had a group of nearly 50 staff and students of the Gospel for Asia School of Discipleship, members from Sports Fan Outreach International and some friends who witness using customs to dress up like Star Wars characters.

On Saturday, April 5th the semi-Final games were played. We met at Gospel for Asia for prayer and orientation. We then drove to the stadium and deployed into six groups.

We had a little bit of rain. However as it got closer to the game times, the rain stopped. In all we had over 60 people out handing out tracts. Some were open air preaching. We ran into a church that was also out sharing the Gospel. By the end of the day we had handed out nearly 20,000 Gospel tracts! Considering that the attendance for the games was nearly 79,444 that means that 1 in four people got a tract. Since people were in groups of 1 to 10 people it is conceivable that every person who attended the game could have heard the Gospel!

College Outreaches

We have continued our outreaches to the local colleges. We have a weekly outreach to the University of North Texas on Wednesday evenings.  Todd has been faithfully leading this weekly outreach for several years now. Each week a group meets and goes to campus to share the Gospel. Each week they have great one on one conversations with students.

In Dallas we go once a month to the free speech zones at Brookhaven College and Richland College. At these schools we are able to reserve a space at the free speech zone. The space includes a table. We give out bottles of water along with tracts (often the Free Water tract), Bibles, DVDs and other resources. These campus outreaches are a great opportunity to share the Gospel with the students. We often will ask them what they are studying, then ask if they believe in evolution. If they say yes, then we ask what evidence they like best about evolution. Rarely do they have anything. It creates a conversation and allows us to explain that God created everything. A good resource to share with the students is Ray Comfort’s Evolution vs God movie. These college outreaches have allowed us to add a number of new names to our prayer list for salvation. Please pray for Petra who heard the Gospel for the first time yesterday.

My friend Paul and I made a trip to the University of Texas at Dallas one day at lunch. We did not setup any type of tract table. We just walked onto campus and talked to students. The first conversation I engaged in lasted nearly an hour. Like the above conversations, I simply asked them what their favorite piece of evidence for evolution was. They said they could not provide it off the top of their head. But then indicated they could look it up. So I handed them each my business card and asked them to email it to me. I have yet to hear from them. Eventually during our conversation I was able to take them through the entire Gospel. One of them who claimed to be an agnostic became more convinced that there had to be a God. I am praying that they will contact me so we can continue our discussion.

2014 National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 1. We have two events planned. One in NDP First Thursday frontCarrollton, TX and the other in Dallas at HOBI International. You are invited to come and join us at either location. Or find a location near you on the National Day of Prayer website.

This year marks four years that we have been doing our First Thursday prayer. We encourage you to start a First Thursday prayer group in your city. Why not take this National Day of Prayer on May 1 and use it as a launching point to pray each month for your city.

Prayer is the first step of our Pray, Learn, Go strategy. Will you join us?

2014 Rangers Opening Day Outreach

For the fourth year in a row we were able to do an outreach at the Texas Rangers opening 10150522_10203590005856723_1562201002_nday. Wally, Brendan and I handed out 2500+ Gospel Tracts. The crowds were huge. I assume the game must have been a sellout. At one point one of the police officers mentioned to me that he was not sure where all of the people could possibly fit into the stadium. It seemed like people just continued to come in waves.

The crowd was friendly. Most would take a tract. Some did not. What amazed me is the people who were carrying two (or four beers) and their hands were full so when we handed them a tract they said they could not hold it. Anyone know the “story” of the man caught in a flood? He goes on top of his house and is waiting for God to rescue him. A guy in a canoe comes buy and says he is there to rescue him. They guy says, “no, God will rescue me.” Then a guy comes in a motor boat and again he declines and says “no, God will rescue me.” Next a helicopter comes by and lowers a rope ladder to rescue him. Again he says, “no, God will rescue me.” Finally he drowns and ends up standing before God. He asks God, “why didn’t you rescue me?” God tells him, “I sent a guy in a canoe, one in a motor boat and one in a Helicopter.”

Do you think the guy with his hands full of beer will have a similar reaction when he faces God on judgement day? Now, I am not claiming that every person that rejects a Gospel tract is in fact not saved. But I just get to thinking, how ironic that a man would cling to his beer when the words of eternal life are being handed to him.

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead. (Acts 17:30-31 ESV)

baseball-trivia-v1-icon-300x175Whether people heed the warning to repent or not is not the point. Our point in going to share the Gospel is to be obedient to the command to “Go” and proclaim the Gospel. Paul tells us to preach the Gospel “in season, and out of season”. Baseball season is a good season to preach the Gospel. Today is opening day. Do you have a Major League ballpark near your house? Do you have a minor league ballpark near you? Why not order some Gospel tracts and then get a group of friends and go to a ballpark near you and hand them out.  Could you make a commitment to do it once or twice during the baseball season? Perhaps one day in heaven someone would say “I got this tract from a guy at a ballgame and I learned about my sin, repented and trusted in Jesus!”

Go to a ballgame to share the Gospel! If you decide to go, please contact me and let me know you are going so that we can pray for you!

Using the Card Now App to pass out tracts

Looking for a fun way to share a Gospel tract? The Card Now app allows you to “print” Gospel tracts and then hand them to people. That’s right, you can play a magic trick which looks like your phone actually prints out the tract! In this video Scott explains how to use the app to hand out the Bezeugen Tract Clubs Hoppy Easter tract.

Download the app. Then load your favorite tracts into the app. Have fun putting a smile on people’s face by printing them a tract. Take a moment to share the Gospel with them when handing them the “printed” tract!

Currently the app is only available for iPhone. To request Android support please complete the form at http://www.cardnowandroid.com/ and indicate to the author that you would purchase the app on Android.

Child of God?

We were at Richland College today witnessing to the students. I was talking with one of the students who is a believer. She was talking about how hard it is as a Christian in the college environment. I agreed with her. Then we talked about the need to be in the Word. We agreed that it is hard to know the truth when what the professors says is in conflict with what the Bible says.

I said, “many people think that everyone is a CHILD of God.” She agreed. Then I said, “but did you know that is not Biblical?” She was surprised. I showed her in John 1 that “everyone who received Him (Jesus) was given the right to be called a child of God.”

It changes your perspective. Look around at people you meet. If they are all children of God then there is no urgency to go and share the Gospel. But with this one simple verse in John 1 you see people differently. Some are children of God because they have repented of their sin and trusted in Jesus. Others are children of the Devil and are destined for Hell. How can we not be compelled to tell them the truth so that they can repent and believe the Gospel!

I would like to encourage you to go and share the Gospel. Join the Bezeugen Tract Club and share the Gospel every day “As You Go”. Join our Weekly Witnessing email distribution and come share the Gospel with us. If you don’t live close by, you can still pray. And you can also start your own witnessing events in your area to go and share the Gospel!

Pray for Salvation

When you witness to people, please get their names. After sharing the Gospel with them, namesyou can pray for their salvation. We’d like to be able to pray to. Starting in 2007, we have been collecting names of people that we have witnessed to. At times over the years we have been more and less diligent in capturing the names. However, we realize just how important it is that once we have shared the Gospel with someone to pray that the Holy Spirit will convict them and they will receive salvation.

And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (John 16:8-11 ESV)

We have setup a page on this website which lists the names of people that we have witnessed to and hence are praying for their salvation. Please join with us in praying for each of these names. As you witness to people we invite you to submit the names of those you have witnessed to. You can go to www.bezeugen.org/names/ and submit the names using the form that is there. Or you can email names@bezeugen.org.

2013 Year in Review

As 2013 draws to a close, we thought it would be good to report on what the Lord has done this year through Bezeugen Ministries. We’d also like to take time to thank you, our donors, supporters and prayer partners, for your partnership in the Gospel. We hope and pray that you will be encouraged to hear all that the Lord is doing!

In January, while a group of us were driving to an outreach at the Cotton Bowl we2013-08-30 17.38.37 discussed a vision that has become known as the 100 Challenge. The conversation started with a simple question, “What if 100 believers were to go door to door in the same city in one day?” WOW! Imagine how many people could be reached and the impact for the Gospel! By the time we drove to Arlington and back and enjoyed some fellowship and dinner together the 100 Challenge had become not only 100 people in one city, but 100 groups in 100 cities across the United States and Canada! To date, 43 44 groups have been identified. The SPREAD approach was identified as a means to focus our efforts and duplicate it across the groups.  We developed three new door hangers for a total of five designs!

Thanks to the printing on demand at Snowfall Press, we have been able to print over 200 copies of The Truth May Impact Your Opinion booklet. We were also able to create a professional audio version of the book and distribute it online. The printed copy, PDF, Kindle version and audio are all available for free on the web. This has proven to be a powerful witnessing tool. Several of the door hangers and tracts refer people to this material to answer their questions about the Gospel.

We presented the Basic Evangelism Training Seminar several times this year in person and online.  We updated our presentation materials and began working on how to make recordings of the material available online and also put the material into book form.

This year we printed over 615,000 Gospel tracts. This brings the running total 2013-08-15 14.15.31since the founding of the ministry to just over 2.3 million tracts! Now keep in mind, this is not just about printing tracts, but getting them into the hands of the lost. Each of those tracts is a seed that the Lord uses to share His Gospel message with the lost. We pray that each and every tract is read and that people respond in repentance and faith to the message. The Lord gave us ideas for a number of new tract designs including The Texting Tract, It’s 2AM, On a Scale of 0 to 100, Happy Halloween, Name Ten Halloween Costumes, and Give Thanks! The Bezeugen Tract Club celebrated it’s fifth anniversary and has grown to 1100 members. The members, have now distributed over 1.2 million Gospel tracts. In October, we began hosting the Everyday Club as a complement to the tract club.

As we look towards 2014, we ask the Lord to use this ministry in a powerful way. In 2014, we plan to host our first ConferReach in Carrollton, TX. We pray that this event will bring to fruition the vision to have 100 believers going door to door on the same day in the same city! We pray the Lord will identify the remaining 57 groups to realize 100 groups committed to regular door to door evangelism. We will provide more training opportunities both in person and online. Outreach opportunities will include the NCAA Final Four, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and around various others around the DFW Metroplex. We will continue to develop new tracts and door hangers and release our “As You Go” book. The Lord has seen fit to allow Bezeugen Ministries to become an independent ministry. We are already able to receipt our own donations under provisional status. In 2014 we plan to complete the process of becoming a 501(c)3 non-profit.

We appreciate your partnership in the Gospel. We covet your prayers! As you consider any year end giving, would you prayerfully consider a gift to Bezeugen Ministries? One of our donors has offered a year end matching fund of $2,013. At the time of writing this letter, we have received $848 towards this goal. You may mail a check made out to “Bezeugen Ministries” in the enclosed envelope to: P.O. Box 117822, Carrollton, TX 75011-7822.  Donations can also be made online with the donate button on the right.
