First Thursday Prayer – November 2015

Thursday, November 5th is the First Thursday of the month. We will be hosting our First 12208638_1190507294297670_88320332024068942_nThursday prayer meetings at several locations (Dallas and Carrollton) which can be found on Meetup. If you’d like to participate at another location, please contact us and we would be glad to add your location to the Meetup group.

The First Thursday prayer is dedicated to prayer for our nation, leaders and revival. This month as we lead up to Thanksgiving we suggest focusing on Thanking the Lord for all He has done. Our #DailyScripturePicture and #30DaysOfThanksgiving on social media should give you some suggested verses like:

  • Psalm 18:49
  • 1 Chronicles 16:8
  • 2 Samuel 22:50

Announcing the 2015 Matching Fun

I received a letter recently from a High School student who would like to start a tract matching fund 2015ministry in his school! When I wpoke with him on the phone he indicated that he and a friend are going to spend two lunches a week sharing the Gospel with their fellow students and encouraging those who are Christian to join them! We will be sending them tracts each month.  Another letter was from an inmate in Oklahoma asking to be “re-enrolled” in the tract club so that he can send tracts out with his letters. A recent phone caller was just calling to thank us for the tract she had received. When I told her we’d be glad to send her tracts each month to hand out she was so excited! One of our tract club members has been using our tracts to do ministry at a local jail. A couple of days ago I received this in a text message from her:

About 7-8 of the women had already signed up to get baptized before I spoke.  But, many others had not decided to obey the gospel in baptism. After reading and explaining to them, I asked if anyone else now understood and wanted to be baptized. Four women immediately raised their hand…then two more…then three more…total 9 more women wanted to be baptized. Before services the Chaplain had told me that we had 35 men and women signed up for baptism. Now, we should have around 44 (men and women) who want to be baptized into Jesus! Praise the Lord!!! You are part of this….your cards help.

These are just a glimpse of the exciting things the Lord is doing through the work of Bezeugen Ministries in 2015.

In 2016 we expect to double the size of the Bezeugen Tract Club and reach over 2500 members per month. We intend to host our second ConferReach. And Lord willing we will be able to travel to do some training, meet some of our tract club members and do outreaches in various parts of the country.

We’d like to partner with you! First, we’d like your prayers! Second, if the Lord leads, would you consider a year end financial gift to Bezeugen Ministries? One of our donors has offered $2,015 in matching funds. So every dollar donated will be doubled. These dollars will help Bezeugen enter 2016 on a strong note able to continue to supply free tracts via the Bezeugen Tract Club and also grow to serve the Lord in many new ways.

As a token of our appreciation, any donation of $20 or more will receive, when requested, 100 each of our new Stars Wars Trading Card and Thank You Trading Cards which are not available in any tract club.

You can donate online or mail a check to:

Bezeugen Ministries

P.O. Box 117822, Carrollton

TX 75011-7822

We appreciate your prayerful consideration to including Bezeugen in your year end giving!

First Thursday Prayer – October 2015

Thursday, October 1st is the First Thursday of the month. We will be hosting our First 12068556_1172551989426534_6777547463579666244_oThursday prayer meetings at several locations (Dallas and Carrollton) which can be found on Meetup. If you’d like to participate at another location, please contact us and we would be glad to add your location to the Meetup group.

The First Thursday prayer is dedicated to prayer for our nation, leaders and revival. This month we suggest spending some time meditating on the magnitude of God’s forgiveness. These two verses may guide that time with the Lord.

12087084_1172552189426514_761536452527332041_o‘Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon. 2 Sam 12:9

So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die. 2 Sam 12:13

First Thursday Prayer – July 2015

July 2nd is the First Thursday of the month. We will be holding our regularly scheduled First Thursday Prayer meetings. See Meetup for locations.

We suggest that you use Galatians 5, especially verses 13-14 to focus your prayer time.

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

As you pray please lift up our nation, leaders and a call for revival. It is not until the people individually repent and turn to God that the Nation can be revived by the Lord!

See the Pray, Learn, Go website for more information on First Thursday Prayer. If you’d like to start a First Thursday Prayer group in your area and be listed on our map please contact the ministry.

Tract organizer from Lowes

My wife an I went to Lowe’s to look for some materials to build her a desk. While walking 2015-06-14 21.52.24around the store we ended up talking to one of the employees about what we were doing and he was giving us some ideas on how to build it. He pointed us to some items in other parts of the store. Before we went to go look at those items, I handed him a tract and he began to read it.

Just as I was about to walk off, I looked on the shelf and saw something I’d been looking for some some time – a rack that looked perfect for organizing Gospel tracts! While I have some boxes to put tracts in them, many of the bins to hold them are too big for the actual tracts to fit well. This one looked like the drawers were just the right size for the tracts to fit. I was looking at it and trying to figure out if the tracts would fit properly about the time he finished reading the tract.

2015-06-14 22.58.19So I asked him what he thought of the tract. He said he had heard that message before but that he didn’t believe it. He said he was somewhere in the middle. There is a lot of hurt from past 20 years of organized religion but he did not go into what it is. He gave the tract back to me by setting it on the product that I was looking at. I gave him my business card and offered to by him breakfast and talk more. I hope and pray he will call.

After that I was trying to figure out if the drawers would work. I was trying to slide a tract in to see and it slipped and feel into the package. As I was trying to get it back out, he said, “why not just leave it in there for the person who buys it.” OK! You don’t have to tell me twice. So I left it in there and bought a different one!

The cabinet is a Stack-ON 18 Drawer Storage Cabinet. I bought mine at Lowe’s for $19.96. The drawers are more than 6 inches deep. So there is plenty of room for 200-300 tracts per drawer. Each draw also has an area where you can divide it into two spaces. Or if there are less tracts, you can just fill the front. I used a couple of bookmarks to make dividers for a few of the drawers.

Texas Rangers Outreach

On May 2nd a group of 30 of us went to the Texas Rangers game and shared the Gospel. We distributed over 6,000 Gospel tracts. We had some one on one conversations.

We were blessed to do this outreach in conjunction with the Gospel for Asia School of Discipleship. The students do a great job at sharing the Gospel. We also had Scott and his sons from Louisiana and two new local contacts join us for the outreach.

Sporting events are a great opportunity to share the Gospel. You can position yourself on the sidewalk leading up to the stadium and simply hand tracts to people. Ask “did you get one of these?” and most people will take them.

We like to make “trivia” tracts to hand out at the event. At this game we had three different versions of our Baseball Trivia tracts. People like to take these as a souvenir and quiz themselves on the questions. The last question leads to the Gospel. One Million Tracts has baseball trivia tracts for many Major Leagues Baseball teams. Additional designs can be developed. And they can be developed for other sports as well. For more information on the Major League Baseball outreach or to order tracts in bulk please see the event page.

First Thursday Prayer – April 2015

Prayer is our communication with God. It is vitality important to the life of any believer.Praying Hands bible And it is critical to our mission to reach the lost. We must be praying for God to fertilize the hearts of the unbelievers to be ready to receive the seed of the Gospel.

Each First Thursday of the month we gather for prayer for our nation, leaders and revival. Will you join us? In Carrollton we meet at City Hall. In Dallas we meet at HOBI International. Join us at one of these locations. Or start you own First Thursday prayer group at your office or City Hall.

This month the First Thursday is April 2nd which is also Maundy Thursday of Holy Week leading up to Easter. As we pray, let’s remember the sacrifice of Jesus to pay for the sin of the world. The verse selected to focus on is

And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (John 20:7)

If you start a group and would like to be added to our Meetup Group calendar please let us know. For the background on the First Thursday Prayer please see the Pray, Learn, Go website. As we look ahead to May, our First Thursday prayer coordinates with the National Day of Prayer. You can register a group with their website.

First Thursday Prayer March 2015

Each month we gather in our communities and places of business to pray for our nation,2015-02-05 06.36.13 leaders and revival. Jesus said to pray to the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers to go into the fields. This is a great opportunity to do this. Traditionally we meet at noon on the First Thursday of each month. But for some, noon may not work. So we would encourage you to schedule a First Thursday Prayer meeting in your community any time on the First Thursday of the month through the following Sunday. If you’d like to be listed on our Meetup Group then you can contact us.

For this months prayer meeting we encourage you to spend time in Psalm 18. David pens maybe his last Psalm (quickly capping the entirety):

  1. David tells of his love for the Lord.
  2. David tells of his deliverance by the Lord.
  3. David tells of the faithfulness of God.
  4. David tells of God’s Power
  5. David lifts his voice in praise to the Lord

He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places. The thought was a note taken in church some 22 yrs ago, “Anyone can walk down hill, It’s hard to walk uphill” Give encouragement that Jesus by his grace gives us the strength to keep on keeping on even when we feel we are walking uphill! (Psalm 18:33)

Please join us at one of our locations in Carrollton and Dallas. If your city is not listed let us know and we can add an event for you.

Dallas Mavericks vs Portland Trailblazers Outreach

Twenty Nine of us met in Dallas on February 7, 2015 to share the Gospel before the Dallas Mavericks game against the Portland Trailblazers. We had students from Gospel for Asia’s School of Discipleship, Jim Wolfe, his son and two men from his church in New Boston and Tom and Martha with Seed Sowers of Texas join us.

We handed out over 5000 Gospel tracts to the 20,398 people who attended the game. That means that one in four people attending the game received a Gospel tract. Given that people are there in groups it is possible that half the people heard the Gospel that night! Praise the Lord!
