First Thursday Prayer – June 2016

Since May 2010 we have been meeting on the First Thursday of each month to pray for our Nation, Leaders and Revival.

We will be hosting our First Thursday prayer meetings at several locations (Dallas and Carrollton) which can be found on Meetup. If you’d like to participate at another location, please contact us and we would be glad to add your location to the Meetup group.

Each month we provide a suggested verse to guide your prayer time. This month we recommend using Mark 4: 39:

And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

This verse is an excellent reminded that Jesus is God and He is in control. During this time in our country some put their trust in men or the political system. But let’s remember what the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 20:7

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

See you Thursday. Let’s pray for our nation. Pray that people will repent and return to God!

First Thursday logistics – May 2016 – National Day of Prayer

Thursday, May 5th is The National Day of Prayer. We encourage you to find an event near you or National Day of Prayer Task Force register an event!

Checking the news is a constant reminder that our Our nation is at a critical time. Political candidates claim to have the answers. But the only hope for America remains Jesus! Will you join us in praying for our Nation, Leaders and Revival. It is only when individually people will repent and get right with God that the other issues will truly be taken care of in a way that pleases God!

Since May 2010 we have been meeting on the First Thursday of each month to pray for our Nation, Leaders and Revival. Once a year it falls on the same day as the National Day of Prayer. As people come to an event, encourage them to come back each month and keep the prayer going throughout the year!

This month we recommend using the National Day of Prayer theme verse, Isaiah 58:1a:

Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.

Since May 2010, we have committed the First Thursday of each month to prayer for our nation, leaders and revival. This year, Franklin Graham is organizing a nationwide tour to pray at every State Capital. Check the schedule and see if you can attend the event in your state. In the meantime, why not commit to pray the First Thursday of each month at your own City Hall!

The truth or your opinion

What’s more important – the truth or your opinion? That is a question we like to lead with to share the Gospel with people. You’ll notice that often logic dictates the day in the natural realm. But when you go to the spiritual realm is there truth?

The Truth May Impact Your Opinion booklet may help sharing the gospel with. The book is intended to give to people that we have witnessed to to answer their objectsions. We have found that it also helps believers learn how to witness and combat these objections when they hear them. The book is available as a PDF download, Kindle download, audio book and in print at not charge.

Let’s not blame Him, He only gives grace

“Let’s not blame Him, He only gives grace”
If a fellow was hurling a discuss and somehow tore his meniscus, then could not bend to smell a hibiscus, is it God who seeks to afflict us?
If a girl ran next to a tree, with a bird and a hive and a bee, then was stung so that she could not see, is it God’s fault she could not flee?
If a man had a ringing in his ear that brought weeping and sorrow and fear. And on one side he could not hear. Is it God that caused him these tears?
And when death comes calling once more, as it has in millenniums before. Since Adam, from one shore to shore. Will hatred be our repore?
And why so oft is it heard, as though no one is reading His word. There’s no God, He’s aloof, life’s absurd! When our sin makes thinking so blurred.
Yes, our sin makes us to cry. It brings pain, it brings sorrow, we die. Since Eden, we’ve all bought the lie, we’ll still curse Him and madly ask why?
Now, in truth God can thwart any plan, of the Devil, in nature or man. If He wills, no illness can stand. Cause He’s sovereign and our life’s in His hand.
So, if He is in sovereign control, Why does death still take it’s toll? It’s our sin, if your taking poll. But God’s end-game is saving our soul!
Yes, eternal is what we should see. His salvation is priority. It’s why Jesus was nailed to the tree. Blood-wrought belief, and we are set free.
So the next time your mad in this place. Death is our fault, and this human race. It’s why Jesus had spit on His face. Let’s not blame Him, He only gives Grace!

Door to door update

We have had an amazingly mild winter which has allowed us to spend time out doors. As Spring approaches the daylight is lasting long enough into the evening that I have been able to get out door to door on my way home from work. It’s a great way to get some exercise as well as share the Gospel with the neighborhood.

On Monday night I had the chance to put out about 30 door hangers. I made the “mistake”

of heading to a part of town that was all the way on the opposite side of town from where I was coming from work. I ended up using up more time driving and it got dark before I could get to any more houses. I had one conversation during the time with a lady who said she believes in God, but does not believe in Heaven nor Hell. She did not have any ideas of what happens when a person dies. I had the chance to share the Gospel with her.

So this morning I mapped out an area on the west side of town so that it was closer on my way from work to home. I parked my car and grabbed some door hangers from the trunk. Very few people were home. But I was able to put out a number of door hangers on doors. While I know that sharing the Gospel is not soliciting, I choose not to approach doors with “no soliciting” posted. Instead I take down the address so that we can mail the Gospel to their house. We have printed a postcard version of the “It’s 2AM tract” to send to these houses. This postcard tract will be available for purchase soon. Or if you are part of our door to door 100 challenge we will provide a form where you can request the postcard to be sent to people.

Two doors hangers left

While walking the neighborhood this evening, I got to a point where I realized it would be dark soon and I decided to go to the end of the street at the stop sign. I was not sure if I had enough door hangers to make it to the end of the street. But as it turned out, when I had two door hangers left, I had just two houses left! Amazing given how I just grabbed some door hangers, walked a random neighborhood, skipped the houses with “no soliciting” that the Lord worked it out to have just enough door hangers! Praise God!

I crossed the street to head back to my car. As I did three people were jogging very slowly in the other direction. They were going very slow. So I walked up to them and handed them each one of our new tracts about the human heart. I simply said, “here is some information for you about the human heart.” They said thanks and each took one.

Hand Delivery Program

The Hand Delivery program allows us to distribute the work load of packaging the Bezeugen Tract Club while also helping you to connect with people locally to encourage them to share the Gospel every day. By having a monthly touch point with them to hand them their 30 day supply of tracts we find that those people remain members longer, stay consistent in their daily witnessing and get engaged in other types of outreaches. The program helps to build a local evangelism team that might like to go out together to share the Gospel at parks, events, door to door, etc.
Each month we will send you the materials to package the envelopes. These materials includes the envelope, letter, tracts and bookmarks. This video explains how to put the envelopes together:

The program works best when you have 10 or more people in your local church, small group, area that you can hand deliver the tracts to. For each of those people we simply ask for their name and email address so we can keep in touch with them through email. To get started we can send you 10 envelopes labeled “new member”. You make up those envelopes and give them out to people as they commit to be members. Then take down their name and email address and provide that back to us so that we can provide an envelope with their name on it for the next month.
If this sounds like something you’d like to do then the next step would be to let me know what names and emails you have now and how many “new member” envelopes to provide for the first mailing. After the first mailing we could then adjust the number of “new member” envelopes to one or two per month so that you can continue finding new members each month.
We would also setup on our website a “hand delivery” registration page for people you refer to simply go online (or you can go online) and register them. They would simply go to that page and enter their name, email address and select you from the drop down list.
For more information contact Carl or call 802-393-8436.
