December 6^th, is the First Thursday of the month. We will meet in Carrollton and Dallas for prayer. In Rockwall there will be prayer this Sunday (the normal second Sunday), December 9th. Each month since May 2010 we have taken the first Thursday of the month to stop and pray for our nation, leaders and revival. Today our Nation observes a national day of mourning for President George H.W. Bush. Pray that this will bring healing and unity to our nation. The one constant is that the Gospel of Jesus has the ability to change the way people think and act! In short: Jesus is the answer. We need prayer! We currently have THREE locations:

• Carrollton City Hall – Will meet on Thursday, November 1^st at noon.
• HOBI International, Dallas – will meet on Thursday, November 1^st at 11AM
• Rockwall – meets on the second Sunday of each month – October 14^th

In Carrollton, meet by the flag poles in front of City Hall at noon.  Prayer is from noon to 12:30. In case of rain we will move under the stairs by the entrance to the city hall. Weather permitting, I typically arrive early and eat lunch by the flag poles. So if you are able, come early and join me.

In Dallas we meet at HOBI International (7601 Ambassador Dr, Dallas). Security access to the building is required. If you plan to attend that meeting, please contact Craig Boswell in advance. Prayer this month is from 11 to 11:30AM. If you are coming, please arrive early to clear security. As a reminder, this month the meeting is Wednesday, October 3rd.

The suggested ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication) verses this month are:

Adoration

 Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
²     sing the glory of his name;
give to him glorious praise!
³ Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
⁴ All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;

Confession

We have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that you commanded your servant Moses.. (Nehemiah 1:7)

Thanksgiving

Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
and perform your vows to the Most High,
15 and call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” (Psalm 50:14-15)

Supplication

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ If you ask me^[a] anything in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

I recently came across a Bible teacher I was not previously familiar with. I was watching the Gospel of John on YouTube. The movie is broken up by chapter. After chapter 16 of the movie played auto play forwarded to a sermon. I was on the elliptical at the rec center and before I had a chance to select something else within just a few minutes I was captivated by this man’s teaching on John 16. So much so that I not only listened to the rest of that sermon, but from there to the rest of John. I have since done some additional research into who he is. Skip Heitzig is the pastor of Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque. His teachings are excellent. I just finished listening to his sermon series titled The Disciples Prayer a teaching on what we typically call the Lord’s prayer. If you have some time, I’d encourage you to check this out as I was incredibly blessed by listening. You can find the series online here.

Our Father who art in heaven,

Thanksgiving
