Since May 2010 we have been meeting on the First Thursday of each month to pray for our
Nation, Leaders and Revival. Be sure to check out the new Pray Learn Go page on Facebook.
This Thursday, March 2nd, we will be hosting our First Thursday prayer meetings at several locations (Dallas and Carrollton) which can be found on Meetup. If you’d like to participate at another location, please contact us and we would be glad to add your location to the Meetup group.
Each month we provide a suggested verse to guide your prayer time. This month we recommend the A.C.T.S. model of prayer using the following four verses:
Adoration
20 You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear. 21 He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. (Deuteronomy 10:20-21)
Confession
10 But David’s heart struck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O Lord, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.” (2 Samuel 24:10)
Thanksgiving
the God who gave me vengeance
and brought down peoples under me,
49 who brought me out from my enemies;
you exalted me above those who rose against me;
you delivered me from men of violence.
50 “For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations,
and sing praises to your name. (2 Samuel 22:48-50)
Supplication
10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm[a] so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked. (1 Chronicles 4:10)
Let’s use this Thursday as a call to repentance for our nation. The National Day of Prayer is two months away. Why not take a moment now to find a location near your or register to host your own National Day of Prayer. We have started to register our monthly events on their website as well!
In Carrollton, TX we meet at 11:30 at the Quizno’s just south of city hall at 11:30 for lunch. Then at noon we head over to City Hall where we pray from noon to 12:30 in front of the flag poles. I hope you’ll join us. You can find the event on Facebook.
See you Thursday!
