One of the most important things in the Christian life and sharing the Gospel is being in the Word. How will you know when talking with someone if what they say is in accordance with the Bible if you are not familiar with God’s Word for yourself?
There are common misconceptions like “God helps those who help themselves”. But the one I seem to hear the most is “we are all God’s children.”
It sounds good. Until you read John 1.
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
(John 1:12 ESV)
I can not even remember how many times I have pointed this out to people that I’ve been witnessing to. So, in order to encourage being in the Word daily, we are promotion the “You’ve Got The Time” event. Starting Thursday, November 22nd and running for 40 days, ending on New Years Eve, December 31st, we will go through the New Testament. You can RSVP to the Facebook event where we will also post periodic updates.
The daily schedule can be found online with an audio that you can click on and listen to on the web. Or you might prefer to use the youversion Bible and the audio feature there.
The “You’ve Got the Time” comes from Faith Comes By Hearing and you can also obtain a FREE audio Bible from their site.
