The Everyday Club Report For The Month Of October

Hi Club Members,
This month seemed to fly by! With the holidays coming in the next two months, time will seem to go by even quicker! Please report on how you did this past month in your evangelism efforts. This was a very exciting month for me. I was able to meet Carl in person for the first time to be at the State Fair of Texas Gospel Outreach on Oct. 19. We were at the fair all day long, joined by a great group of people that included about 30 students from the Gospel For Asia School of Discipleship. Carl said that we probably gave out around 7500 tracts altogether! It was an encouraging day!
How did you do this month? Dd you meet or exceed your goals? Did you hear of someone being saved through tract distribution or through a conversation? We look forward to hearing from everyone! Have another great month as we head toward Thanksgiving!
Witnessing wishes,
Scott

I had a good month ending with Halloween night giving out over 300 tracts, video’s and CD’s and praying that God’s word will bear fruit in the lives of many.

  4. Steve L.

Handed out hundreds of tracts but most were on the college campus. Shooting for a perfect month especially on the “street!”

That’s great, Dale! We are praying for a harvest when we sow precious seeds!

Thanks, Steve! Keep up the good work!

What a month October was! I missed a few days in getting at least one gospel tract out (usually placed out for someone to find). Went out with my “Are You Ready?/John 3:36/Wrath&Grace” cross almost weekly (planning on going out tomorrow)! Also did some open-airing reading right from Scripture and giving a clear gospel message!!! One message that I did preach was a Halloween/Reformation Day gospel message. Still did battle with the enemy and still struggle with fear, but I’m praying that November is even better as I prepare a Veteran’s Day gospel message, a John F. Kennedy gospel message (50th Anniversary of his assassination on the 22nd) and of course a Thanksgiving gospel message all to proclaim this month! Onward with the gospel and to God be all the glory in November and beyond!!!

Also to add because I had to work on Halloween night I didn’t get to hand out the candy with the gospel tracts that I prepared, but my wife did! She did a great job in getting a lot handed out!!

It looks like you had an awesome month, Thomas! You are busy in the Lord’s work! We’ll be praying for you this month!

Had a blessed month witnessing everyday. I continue to write stories about my experiences every few days. I post them on Facebook and on my blog. I’ll paste my most recent story below:

    11/1/13 Muhammed, Omar, ? 30’s
There was a brochure on the counter of my Palestinian-owned mechanic shop that said “Ask Me About Islam”, so I did. I was picking up my car at the end of their work day, and owners/brothers Muhammed, Omar, and a third brother had some time on their hands, so I said “I noticed this brochure here, so I want to ask you about Islam”. They were all ears. “I understand that whom I would call God, the Creator of the Universe, you call Allah, Praise be upon Him” This is not the correct expression, but at least I was trying to show some respect for their beliefs. “And I’m sure that you would agree that God, or Allah, is perfect in every way.” They were comfortable with me referring to Him as God, and agreed with me. “And I’m sure that you agree that God’s purpose is to receive all the glory He truly deserves, and that He is glorified when His attributes are displayed, like His perfect love, kindness, mercy, and justice.” They had some clarification questions, but we were in agreement so far. “So my question is, where in Islam does God display His perfect justice? In a courtroom, if a man received a $100 fine for killing the wife and mother of a family, they would say there is no justice, that she was worth far more than that. If justice means the punishment must fit the crime, what should the consequence be for our sins against an infinitely holy God?” This began a lively debate, all very respectful, about God’s love and justice. I learned some things about Islam. According to these brothers, Islam is not simply a religion of good works as I’d assumed. They kept referring to the need to prove the sincerity of one’s repentance through religious acts. Their idea of God’s justice is that God forgives us for our sins if we can demonstrate that we are really, really sorry. It is like that same man in court slamming a finger in a door to demonstrate to the judge how sorry he is. No wonder we hear of fanatical religious actions in Islam like the self-flagellation of the Shi’ites. In Islam, no consequence for sin is required except for sincere repentance. I told them “This is why we Christians insist that Jesus is God’s Son; Creator, not creation, because no created being would be worthy to take the punishment we deserve for our sins against the Creator”. They insisted God forgives without any consequence, beginning with Adam. Omar read a verse from the Qur’an, first in Arabic, then in English, in which angels are told to bow down to Adam who is said to have a place in heaven even after his sin. I responded, “But the Bible is consistent all the way through, that no created being should be worshipped, only the Creator and His Son. To do so would be idolatry” They reallydidn’t know what to say to that. I kind of felt like I won this debate, but I know it’s not about winning arguments. I just feel I made some valid points that the Holy Spirit might use in their lives, and I’m thankful for the inherent logic of Christianity, the only religion that satisfies the requirements of a God who, through the cross, demonstrates both His perfect love and His perfect justice at the same time.

Hi, Jeff. I enjoy reading about your witnessing experiences! I put a link on my blog to yours. I am thankful for your witness!

Praise the Lord always! I reached my goal of handing out or placing at least 1 tract every single day. This is very easy to do, now that I’m “placing”. Even if I work at home, I go for a bike ride or walk and give or place tracts at the bus stop. I keep a number and I averaged 7.3 tracts a day in October. Halloween was wonderful – candy and a million to all the kids! They loved it. As Ray Comfort says “On Haloween, lots of people come to your door and ask for a tract”.

Thank you for continuing this ministry! May the Lord be praised in everything!

Amen. Tom! The more you give out tracts, the more you want to do it! We have so many opportunities everyday! Thanks for checking in!!

My goal has been to share the Gospel at least once each day or at least hand out a tract every day. There were a couple of days that I was home sick. So it was not possible to get out of the house to share the Gospel. However, I was still able to share the Gospel online posting on Facebook!
On all other days I was able to get out at least one tract or engage in one conversation each day.
We had some days with more tracts like the day we were at the State Fair of Texas and handed out something like 7500 tracts during the day.
Yet, the most memorable are the one on conversations. The kids at the door on Halloween that gladly took tracts with their candy. The door to door salesman that comes to the door and I get to share the Gospel with him.

For November I am increasing my goal to not only share the Gospel or a tract every day, but also to hand out at least 100 tracts per week!

I met my goals for most of the month. I try yo give out @ least 10 tracts a day. I do more on most days. As I mentioned in the post, I was at the State Fair of Texas Gospel Outreach with Carl. This was my highlight of the month. I rode the bus down the day before, witnessing to several people and leaving tracts as I went. When I got off the bus in Dallas, I started witnessing there. You can read about that trip on my blog. Carl posted about the Fair Outreach on the Bezeugen blog. I gave out over 300 Halloween tracts for the month, giving out about 40 on Halloween day.
